It was in the year 1989 somewhere in Norway when RED HARVEST was founded, the first steps on a path which led through metallic landscapes for almost two decades until the present day. Many years were spent on the borderline between alternative art music and metal mayhem, never being part of the Norwegian black metal scene, although they have been and still are in contact with several bands. Ofu Kahn and LRZ appeared on ZYKLON's "Aeon” album, LRZ created the intro and outro synth on DARKTHRONE's "Hate Them” as well as the intro for "Sardonic Wrath”, and TurboNatas did for example the artwork of MAYHEM's "Chimera”. When asked to describe themselves, the band comes up with labels like Apocalyptic Industrial Paranoia Metal, but like other releases, the sonic assault of RED HARVEST defies all trademarks. Musically, RED HARVEST have been quite unpredictable ever since. Their first album presented an avant-garde thrash metal style. In more recent times, with the introduction of samples/ synthesizers by member LRZ, the band became more electronic oriented with black/death metal influences, dubbed to many as extreme industrial metal. Like their music, RED HARVEST repeatedly update their logo, and evolve it, to visually represent the constant evolution in their music and also their fondness of liking to surprise listeners.
