Somewhere in this world in a tiny office someone is in charge of designing all the DVD-menues that need to be designed. This someone is halfblind, has no taste whatsoever and does a wonderful job in trying to work with his remaining working but colorblind eye closed most of the time. Once again he did, once again, a wonderful job in a hideous menue.
This DVD starts with the following screen:

When clicking on extras it looks like this:

The documentation lasts about 1 hour and 35 minutes, thats 1 mile and 35 feet for our American readers, and was produced for Arte and the zdf. It is in English with German sub-titles, Andrew Horn was in charge.
One gets informed about his time in New York (where Nomi went in 1973/74) until his death in 1983. Ten years where he became a club star, put out two records and did a marvelous job in getting famous and leaving behind some very sectarian 70ies avantgarde people in N.Y. You know, those creeps who automatically equal comercial success with sell-out. Nomi really liked to cook cakes, in the extras-menue of the DVD you can find his favourite Lime Tart recipe.
David Bowie used Nomi once (fake, pink dogs FTW) in a Saturday Night Live appearance (December 15th 1979) and pretty much confirms my theory of 'Low' (1977) being Bowie's last record that was inspired by himself and not by looted stuff that happens/happened around him.
Nomi once opened a show for Twisted Sisters (!) somewhere in New Jersey and I was actually for the first time ever thinking about the possibilities of time travel. What a great combination!
But my personal highlights are the scenes where Klaus' aunt from Essen is interviewed and touches the viewer and listener (who thinks of the Blind these days?) with her version of the story; apparently Tante Doddo did not want to get filmed so Horn just shows this fantastic (or 'fantastique' as the French would say) doll's room/garden:

I wish there were more documentaries where aunts tell the audience about the rise and fall of German stardust.
