@Obscurant
Yeah I'm also disappointed by Blut aus Nord... Let's wait until we can hear it in our headphones though, we never really know. And I've been waiting for ABSU since 2001's "Tara": can you imagine just to which (im)possible degree Proscriptor's drum playing must have evolved in 7-8 years?!?! This is gonna be hell.

Hell, are ABSU even active any more? I heard something about a massive line-up change (that is, Proscriptor sacked the other two guys & brought in new young flesh). Even if he haven't progressed one bit musically since Tara, I think it's still safe to say that he would kick a serious amount of ass.
My hope is for Varg Vikernes to get out of prison and record a new album, to show how BM should sound. That'd be something legendary.

Sweet Jesus! I hadn't heard anything about that!
Looks like something Roger Dean might've done on an afternoon (of course it's Kris Verwimp). Great that they actually have an original painting and not just some "autumn-coloured photoshop porridge" as most metal bands do.
And great song titles too, "Twix Yesterday, The Day & The Morrow", "In The Name Of Auebothiabathabaithobeuee"... will be interesting!

As you say, it will take some time to digest. The whole album leaked a couple days ago, and that one song on the Candlelight page is probably the weakest of the lot. There are some great moments in there, but also a lot of boring, overly melodic parts. I think they're trying to breathe some fresh air into traditional melodic black metal--coming at it from the inside rather than the outside. I'm just not sure if it works...

HAVOK! Haha. Maybe not that technical, but people compare us to Necrophagist & Anata... I dunno. You can find it on a few death metal blogs if you're interested Suleiman, it's called "Being and Nothingness".

They formed an experimental project - kkoagulaa. I didn't like it from what I heard so far, but well I didn't listen too much. Check 'em out on myspace.
