The new DARKTHRONE, "Circle The Wagons" is fucking killer.
NEKROMANTHEON's "Divinity Of Death too.
LYDIA LASKA's "Krankenhaus" will be the best rock'n roll record since well, ever...
2010 will be a good year

Yeah, I forgot to mention Stagnant Waters. Their 2 songs on the "Sea of abandoned polaroids" split with Phlegma are fucking really sick.
Also, now that Einz is here, it reminds me that I didn't mention Two Trains either, I hope the second album is released at last in 2010.
Island selftitled album is already listed in Vendlus website, it for sure would have been on my top list of 2009 (it should have came out in May), but you know, label problems... shit happens. The Zeitgeister must be mad at Vendlus. They also announced a new Ekpyrosis album, which is fucking great news.
@Einz: Btw, how does the new Darkthrone sound? I know I won't get another Ravishing Grimness, but I still have faith that it could be better than the last two albums (the one I like the most of the last three was The Cult is Alive, the punk approached fits better with Darkthrone I think).

Dammit, it is not fair so say something like that when I cannot listen to it.

Well, I've more or less enjoyed the whole "punk"-phase of Darkthrone. The Cult Is Alive I see as the transitional one (equal parts BM/punk), and maybe the personal fave of mine, and on F.O.A.D. they went the whole nine yards mixing heavy metal, punk and black metal. Excellent that one as well. Dark Thrones And Black Flags carried on in the same track yet it sounded a little less inspired to me. By no means bad, but it certainly didn't have the consistency of its predecessors.
So, where does that leave Circle The Wagons? In my humble opinion it's the best one in years. Maybe even a contender to The Cult..., even though it's quite different. It sort of refines what the band has been doing on the last 2 albums and takes it to a new level. Extremely good songcraft and great vocals (particularly the clean vocals of Fenriz which there are more and more of - several of the songs have full-fledged singing choruses). The sound is muddier than ever, but in a good way. Apart from a couple of songs which I haven't quite decided on yet, it's all killer material. If you enjoy the "new" Darkthrone, you're gonna love this.

Thank you for the comment, I'll give it a try. FOAD was not any bad, but DTABF went a bit too far in that direction for me. It was fun but not for listening a lot to it. Anyway my preferred Darkthrone, as I said, were Ravishing Grimness, that was not too far from The Cult is Alive, but less punker. The three in between were somewhat uninspired too.

Vendlus is at a complete standstill it seems. I ordered 2 of their 2009 albums months ago from them, and they just took my money, but never responded to e-mails or sent anything. I also tried ordering them from The End, but they never actually got their shipment from Vendlus.

Wow, I didn't know they have went that far... it's a fucking shame they did it to you (and probably more people). Then it's more fucked up than what I knew... at least their webpage hints at a "2010 RELAUNCH", I hope they get their releases out in a fucking time and they return your money or your goods to you.
Fuck, some time ago I thought it would be an awesome label.

Sigh will have their new album "Scenes from Hell" in 2010.
http://www.myspace.com/sighjapan
They've put a song of it there. it would seem they went to a more bm feeling, but keeping some of the influences from their last album. Sounds good
EDIT: I just learned that they have this on their Hail Horror Hail album
There is a warning on the back of the CD that states:
"Every sound on this album is deliberate and if you find that some parts of the album are strange, it isn't because the music in itself strange, but because your conscious self is ill-equipped to comprehend the sounds produced on this recording."

I know the older the album, the more bm it is, but this song still sounds like something different from before (apart the orchestral parts, they remind me very much of Hangman's Hymn). Although, I didn't leech enough from the albums to be sure of my memory . Ok I surrender, I used bad wording
And yes, interesting and exciting!
PS: Dr. Mykannibal is posing for the Hottest Chicks of Metal calendar

Also ABIGOR/BLACKLODGE split album (finally, the Abigor sample sounds amazing, as expected) and VULTURE INDUSTRIES will probably have a release too, at least they're recording now, interesting.
