Sorry for continuing the spamming, but the title of this message brought to mind the Italians of Black Hole. Their 1985 album
Land of Mystery is a pleasant combination of early doom metal, understated NWOBHM riffs, eerie keyboards, and hasty vocals. The drummer has a nice soft touch and there is this ethereal feel coming through at select moments. At its most artistic, it sounds like a gateway for something like Monumentum; at its most rudimentary, it's plain 80s obscurantist racket. Not very enlightening but a cool listen.
Try it on for size if you're for shoddy yesteryear metal:
Blind Men and Occult Forces.
