I'm sry I am basically too stupid to use my own small redcording device so i guess i wont be able to help with mixing :(
I can try think of something...
On another issue I am working on a lo-fi BM version of Ved Buens Endes "to swarm deserted away" and would like to ask if someone could help me out with the drums, if real drums not possible perhaps show me wich program to use to program them.
If real drums possible I would like to have an uncreatice blastbeat in low quality I can send the guitar file to anyone willing to help out.

Uncreative blastbeats are just my cup of tea! 8)
It so happens that I will record two songs soon for this Pink Floyd-tribute, so if you send me your song (whatever you´ve got) ON CLICK and tell me the tempo and what else you would want from me (different parts whatsoever), I could add another song to the recordings.

@nettram : two awesome programs im using these days are hydrogen...and slifty

the first one is a stand alone application that work really well in metal as well as all other froms of music..unlimyted kayers and llotsa samples..plus you can sequnce your entire songs drums

slifty is a simple 4 track vst...its a demo but works unlimited...cool thing about it is that it allows probability programming...meaning if you do it right, now two bars are the same and you get awesoem rolls

@ tentakel p : the main rhtym part is done for young lust.,,,,i was doing a fats thrahs thingy...but eventually wimped out ...now im doing it like sabbath covering it, but with a more extreme metal feel........

the tempo is 100 BMP and the riff is strummed

ok tentakel p , here is the main riff file..do not be shocked at the quality or tone..this is just a demo to show you..its a short wav file to show you the timing...loop it and play along

http://www.zshare.net/audio/160743953fa0feef/

in the corner is link to download

this is the main riff ...there are two more sections ...they all follow the exact same rhytmic pattern or strumming....but drums wise the intensity needs to be upped a bit in those two sections..so basic structure is:

part 1 - this riff - basic drum rhtym
part 2 - same drum rhythm but with more hi hats and some toms
part 3 - same drum rhythm but with a lot more cymbals and rolls (this the chorus)

play all 3 sections as long as you like...but give them to me sperately when you are done

and pls pls pls could you gimme the waves..i can send you the samples for the kikc, snare, toms, hi hats, ride cymbals etc to use if you are unsure

happy bashing !

NOTE : this message is with apologies to pink floyd fans who will no doubt cry rivers of blood upon heraing the finished songv

To Suleiman and BenDan:

Please bear with me a little longer! I have still not managed to record the two tracks; we have a third band in the rehearsal room now and it is difficult to find a free day for me alone. Now my stepparents are visiting and if I can´t record this saturday (which depends on the guy who must help me) it will take at least a week longer before I can even think about finding another day to record. Please be patient, I´ve got all other musical involvments placed on second priority, PINK FLOYD comes first as soon it is possible... It is always a pain in the ass to record drums, as I obviously can´t just plug my instrument into the PC :( I am on it!

No prob.
I'm somehow late with the recordings of NOP's new album, so I couldn't do anything else before (late) September...
Good thing I'm jobless :)

Yes !
And that's exactly what I expected... some toms here and there, some cymbals stuffs... that's good

I just sent them to the Bass guy and the Keys guy. I think I'll do my parts quite soon...

to Suleiman:

Since I will record soon, I could record the bass for Young Lust if you want.

Hey glad to hear ;-)

I am preparing the Base and snare MIDI meanwhile, so we can change the sound later on. If you want to try it out, I can send you Overheads, Toms, Snare and Base seperate for the mix, otherwise I´ll do it when everyone else is finished.

I´m eager to hear what you make out of it!

For now, the pre mix drums is enough for recording & mixing my parts with it. Thanks

hey ben long time no hear

i took out the slower beats from sebastian's drum track........the faster ones i will use on some grind/crust stuff :) i know its cheating..but ti just seems apt

should i send both of you a very rough mix........the song is essentially 3 complete cycles of the verse-bridge-chorus, but the drums have given it a really killer feel...some of the drum times are out slightly but that will be fixed on fine tuning......

i have played a bass track but i would love use yours Ben...........

mainly what is left are the vox and the leads

i need you Ben to listen to the rough demo to get an idea of the time of the riffs...i will uplaod as mp3 as soon as possible

Yeah, bring it on! Have you taken the slow one as it is now or did you copy/paste it to some other sequence? A rough mix would be fine.

So, you´re going to cheat yourself another song together, eh? Okay, why not, but let me do the drum mixing, please. I still have the seperate tracks for overhead/toms/snare/base. And, if you like to grind, I still have a triplet blast on 200 bpm (equalling 4/4 300 bpm) which I have recorded for something else once, if you wanna use it. The overall tempo for the stuff I sent you was 200, so that´d fit. Let me know ;-)

I don't know if I'd be able to do better, but give us the rough mix and I'll tell you.

What's about your other covers : Mother & Empty Spaces ?

C ya
