Also new here...
Coming from Wallachian Kingdom in the east of Czech Republic Smile, well, now living in Ostrava(another dirty hole), where I´m working as a soft developer. I´am 25, wish I will be 26, also 27 ,maybe 28 and not very sure about 29.
Hobbies quite simple - comupters, music, movies, sometimes books, I like a lot hiking in the hills, while I am addictive on woods and mountains, also girlfriends(only one per a time)...
From books, well, everything what looks fine, now trying to get into modern philosophy works(Locke now), as I am fan of modernism.
From movies, mostly Bergman(R.I.P.), Jean Luc Godard, Akira Kurosawa, Federico Fellini, also everything what seems to be good.
From music - nearly everything. It means metal(mostly sludge, drone, (post)black...) stoner rock, postrock, hc, grind also. I like classic music (from Bach to Bartók or Webern, I am trying to make no borders in my mind), I am trying to get more into jazz (mostly like things like John Coltrane, Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis, Sun Ra...), also like classic progressive music, like Pink Floyd, Yes! = example, I trying to catch all of the british 70yrs prog bands but..., I am huge fan of fussion of jazz with electornics, like Skalpel, Jagga Jazzist, Sayag Jazz Machine etc., also I like IDM, trip/hip-hop music, psytrance etc., dub, lounge etc, what means all downtempo music mostly. Big fan of ambient/dark ambient, ritual and industrial ambient Very Happy also, I like noise, ebm, industrial a lot.
Now, I want to get more into drone-folk, weird-folk and weird music at all music more, while it´s not very easy, heh...
Also want to get deeper into Tzadik label music, while I am a fan also of Zorn´s work and that jewish jazz seems to be quite interesting.
From avantgarde, I think it´s not necessary to repeat names again. Looking forward to see Unexpect with Sebkha-Chott in Prague, if it will be true..

Well, some very few over here might know me already [or my zine - ehehe], for the others - here I am.
My name is Gerardo, I'm a (currently) 23 year old student from The Netherlands. I'm the founder and owner of the Industrialized Metal Webzine, which is a zine that concentrates fully on industrial metal, and keeps on bringing you new and exciting stuff from the underground. Suleiman once found my page, wrote me, and thus I found out about AGM.. really cool zine, also very underground based - I love it! Found lots of cool new bands over here as well.
Furthermore, I'm also playing around with a small distro Seven Times More Scary Productions, which comes together with a very small and mostly just for fun recordlabel on which I'll (co-)release some wicked stuff in the future (mostly extreme stuff on ltd. vinyl).
Well, what more is there to tell... Although The Netherlands is the home of Heineken beer, and we have the legalized softdrugs policy over here, I'm a follower of the striaght edge lifestyle. And, to fully support animal rights, I'm as well a proud devoted vegan.
My music taste goes from death/grind to industrial metal and from classical music to hardcore punk, so I think there isn't much that I haven't heard yet - ehehe.
Allright - that must be about it, if I forgot to mention something or you've got some questions, just drop them to me!

I've known about this site for a quite a while but have just now decided to join. La Masquerade Infernale was my first exposure to Avant-Garde and after hearing the album in it's entirety I decided to seek out more Avant-Garde which landed me here(sometime in July).
Music- The standard Black(Depressive, Progressive, Symphonic, Melodic, Infernal, Folky, Ambient) and Death(just about any variation), Folk, Dark Ambient
Interests- Jesting, History, Hacky Sack, Deviant Satiric Strangeness, Nature
I live in the US, Texas if you will...

Hello, I am ampc. I joined this forum a while ago, but never bothered posting, or even introducing myself. Technically, I've been listening to experimental metal for about two years, at first in the form of Mr. Bungle and Fantômas. I now listen to many forms of music including but not limited to hip-hop, free jazz, and of course, metal.
My taste in metal lies withing the realms of progressive and technical death metal and unconventional forms of black metal, most of which can be labeled avant-garde metal, and so I label myself an avant-gardist metalhead. I also have a taste for experimental music outside of the metal realm, such as the genre mashing bands like Mr. Bungle and Naked City.
So that's enough for introducing myself, methinks.

Hey, I'm new, so I guesse I'll introduce myself:
My name is David, I'm 17, and I'm from Edmundston in New-Brunswick, Canada.
I like pretty much any kind of music within the three grand styles: Classical, Jazz, and of course Metal (and within metal, my favorite genres are Proggressive, Power, and you've guest it, Avant-garde)
I also play keybords and drums.
Beside music, my interests are maths, video games, maths, basket-ball, and maths.
I just heard about your site and your forum this week and it looks like I'm going to like here .

New old guy, 45 if that is old in these parts. Refugee from many a Progressive Rock forum and luckily jumped ship before the whole genre went stagnant. Found a big AGM life raft floating by and grabbed on.
Live music addict having seen many of the bands in this forum's fine list more than once, living in Oakland CA does have its advantages
Uh, let's see .... boast over 1000cds and many a iPOD tune, in fact, I can be on a deserted Island for 43.2 days and not here the same song more than once. As if I will ever have the chance to listen to music for 43 days straight, pshaa, the longest I have ever lasted is 14 days, and even then I had a support group of 7 peeps.
Because I am an old guy I have a diverse taste in music including all genres of Prog, most Extreme Metal, but AGM the most, Lounge, Jazz, Pop Standards - not Whitney or Britney or Chutney, but rather the real Pop Standards like Sinatra, Martin, Torme, and Bassey et. al., World music of Latin flavor, Soundtracks - Movie and TV (the one place the '70s really rocked) and just about anything unusual, experimental, insane, so sane it's closer to insane, and medicinal.
I have been known to travel long distances for live acts, NYC for Stolen Babies and Koenjihyakkei, Philly often for Nearfest, and Montreal later this year for FMPM.
Personally, I am a person. Have been since birth minus a short period in the second grade where I thought I was a parrot. I like fun things like Play Doh, Fire, Sex, Basketball, and Music. I have been married, divorced, engaged, single, and cohabitating, in fact when ask I usually respond all the above, don't work although I did for the last 25 years and I always use my turn signals.
I am sure there is more but I have always been a fan of brevity.
Hasta
