 Re: The self-promotion Bands Thread
Ok, here's my project and a few songs from upcoming "album" that I'm working on: http://www.mikseri.net/artists/?id=117246&displ_lang=en (lyrics in finnish...) Kind of a mix of a bands like "maudlin of the Well", "Pin-Up Went Down", "Subterranean Masquerade" etc., but very much something my own too. I've played all the instruments, except flutes, mouth organs, saxophones and trumpets. The synths, pianos and trombones are made by computer. There's also a female vocalist and using of kazoo, which is not very usual in metal music I think? But I think that the kazoo is just shocking enough to be in this project. And it kinda ruins the metallic atmosphere at times, which is the thing that I try to do with this kind of music. I try to do metal music that is very convincing and very unconvincing at the same time. Becouse that provokes all the issues that I'm singing about. And that's the reason why I'm doing and loving avant-garde music. And, well, that's kinda shame that the lyrics are in finnish, 'couse that provoking can't be heard if you don't speak finnish. But still, I think that internationally (and especially in this great forum!) this kind of music is more welcome. In my country they listen only folk metal. EDIT: And now there are two more songs here. The first one is more like Pin-Up Went Down, when the second one is... well, don't actually know. But it includes a saxophone solo, anyhow.

http://soundcloud.com/vicisolum-1/havok-carver-of-liesThe track "Carver of Lies" from the upcoming HAVOK album Statues of Sisyphus. Check out the cover, by Eliran Kantor. It KICKS ASS. & the song is pretty swift too, though you probably don't hear that much of my playing.

Yo Germans! We're playing with DERANGED here: http://metalclub-reichenbach.de/home.php, on the 9th or 10th I think. Haven't heard any of the bands except SODOM, but that's enough for me to be stoked!

Oh, missed their logo. Looked too much like a tree and not a bush to be a metal logo... Anyway, we were supposed to play in Greifswald the day after, but apparently Cannibal Corpse are coming to Rostock that day so there aren't any other death metal gigs scheduled that night in the northeast of Germany it seems.

 Re: The self-promotion Bands Thread
This is really going back in time. Here is my first "official" album that I recorded on computer back in the year 2000. It's pretty weird, lots of odd samples from video games, kind of industrial in spots. Production isn't fantastic, but this was my first effort using Cakewalk Home Studio 7. Only FOUR audio tracks available, so lots of "track-bouncing". Digital delays are created by actually copying the track to another track, sliding it back in time, and lowering the track volume. http://archive.org/details/dx_learning-curve

 Re: The self-promotion Bands Thread
Hello! This is a really unusual band coming from Serbia, unsigned, just finisher their first album, after 8 years f working on it. Album is called "Between the Irony" and it ranges from black/death to swing jazz, and it gets as odd as possible. every song is different, and it takes you a lot to hear everything. The band is originally based in Belgrade, Serbia. do hear it if you are patient. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ziEe_MbODYhttp://springandyouth.bandcamp.com

 Re: The self-promotion Bands Thread
... and a new Dimaension X album, finally. An experiment in drone-doom-noise. I'm mainly toying with feedback, delays and other effects in real-time. For a lot of this I just propped my guitar up in front of the amp and let it do the work. The final "song" is a "cover-tune" of sorts, but obviously severely modified. Anyone care to venture a guess? http://archive.org/details/DX_drone2012

 Re: The self-promotion Bands Thread
Some news on ABSTRUSE... (not that it's self-promotion, I'm not in the band... whatever): Before the release of ABSTRUSE' "Earthbound", which is scheduled for early November, they wanted to share a free track of the upcoming album:
Machine-Infected Swarm, the first videoclip since Neuronal Forest released in 2007, can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... nNAytpHypc
Moreever, as 10 years have passed since the foundation of the project, ABSTRUSE offers, along with the new track, the whole "Transgression" album with digital artwork to download for free from here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/92477431/ABSTR ... BBONUS.rar

 Re: The self-promotion Bands Thread
Finally decided to upload some of the music by my former band, Deadside Manor. These demos are all VERY RAW and mixed live to stereo. No mix-downs, overdubs, after-effects, just the four of us playing through our live set. http://archive.org/details/deadsidemanorliveYeah, it's real uneven, but it is a great representation of the songs, which I think were pretty darn good. Most of the songs were created by all us, just jamming in the room. The singer also came up with a lot of the riffs and all of the lyrics. And drummer (one-foot only, BTW!) is just insanely talented. My guitar is almost always at the bottom of the mix, but I don't care. Still cool music.
