ORGAN: 7"ep & BEYOND DAWN cd out now!
Duplicate Records presents:
ORGAN: 7"ep
This part Norwegian, part Italian trio create atmospheres akin to the likes of Voivod and Ved Buens Ende, but in lengthy, instrumental doses. Add a dash of the most outlandish samples and you have something very different indeed. The band also has an even more experimental side, exploring territories beyond the borders of rock/metal, where anything may happen.
Organ: is the perfect match for open minded listeners into metal, prog, electronica and avantgarde.
As a taster for their debut album we are releasing this vinyl including two exclusive tracks.
Total playing time: 13 minutes.
Ltd. 500, black vinyl in special rustique jacket created by Ra Design.
50 NOK / USD 7 / 5.5 EURO

BEYOND DAWN - Bygones cd
The members of Beyond Dawn may be scattered about, using their creativity in an array of various bands and projects, but the music of Beyond Dawn lives on.
Duplicate are planning a series of releases spanning the band's entire career including material never before published. The first one of these is the Bygones cd, including the early out-of-print ep's, demos and unreleased tracks from the period 1991-94, showcasing the band in their avantgarde metal prime.
This is the beginning.
100 NOK / USD 14 / 11.5 EURO

Might get the Organ cd next time I buy from Dupilcate... and I have yet to listen to the Beyond Dawn on myspace, could be a buy too, more of a collector's buy because what I was/am addicted to is Electric Sulking Machine and In Reverie, mostly. Anyway, welcome Einz!

The organ: EP is simply amazing, I love all those psychedelic chords progressions and strange noises, voices and groovy drum dynamics found in Wok Wok... definitely a classic already! Very catchy and experimental stuff. Kind of post-rock, uplifting, entranced agm + electronics and a vaguely bizarre, drumnbass-y shoegazy alternative and oddly cut-up rock third song.

Yeah, this band is awesome. Apoplexy was already great, but this 7''ep sounds more psychedelic and trippy and less black metal. Bought it yesterday in mp3, pity I have not vinyl to play this. I hope they get their album finished and released soon!
Wok Wok has a magnificent guitar and bass work, I like that tiny distorted sound. And Bossanova is weird and strange, warping drum'n'bass that seems to be played backwards. This shit truly takes my mind to places beyond. It reminds me of when I did drugs, hahah.
It's a shame that the ep is too short.

Yep, sounds definitely promising. The sample on Myspace evokes moods somewhere between LIFELOVER and VIRUS.

Jarle, the guitar player, actually came by and picked up the band's copies today. We talked a bit about what needs to be done with the album. If the drums will not be entirely re-recorded (the original trigger takes failed, as they were recorded analogically and no digital signal exists), some of them should be replaced. Some additional guitars would also lift the whole thing to the level it needs. And then there's mixing. I have no idea how long it will take, but we agreed that it must come out during 2010 at least.
I'm really happy to see the postitive response the ep gets, both here and from my other customers. Hopefully you'll spread the word:)

Ah... But you know you can convert analogue sound to digital impulses? If you have the analogue drum tracks and you like them, there is no need to re-record drums, you can convert the analogue drum tracks into trigger signals.

Well, we, or they (the band) don't like them.

Then there is no way of NOT re-recording, I guess.
