Haha, isn't Slumdog an American production, made in India? It's pretty far from stereotypical Bollywood I think... like, no dancing :)

it suks 99.999 % of the time just like hollywood

slumdog is not a bollywood production

bolly stuff i dig is mostly gangster / street mafia/corrupt cop movies like company, satya, d , ab tak chappan etc (these smoke the holly wood attempts at ganster flicks) or some other rather arty stuff like a movie about the ethnic hindu /muslim tensions in india called anwar

I guess what's easy to forget outside of India, if your not a Bollywood buff, is that it's not always OTT musicals with Ashwarya Rai being pretty singing & dancing (nothing wrong with that though)... tried to watch Devdas, which I guess is one of the most known Bolylwood movies in the West... man it was just too goddamn much, the story could've been right of some Disney movie like Beauty & the Beast or Alladin, waaaay too much of everything, especially singing & dancing!

Would be cool to see the Bollywood of Tarantino/Guy Ritchie-type flicks.

Watched "Watchmen" yesterday... Boy, this was overwhelming. Really. Dark, cynic, intelligent. Not your everyday superhero movie. Have to get the comic now.

I read the comic, and I'll notify you as soon as I see the movie :P Hope it's at least decent, cuz the comic is beyond fantastic.

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory

and a bonus was that this guy - Roald Dahl - has so many books in the shop where I work. Now at least I know something about him.

I love Roald Dahl, he pretty much writes the most evil short stories possible ;)

I second that. Have you read the one with the patterned carpet, only two pages, where the boy vanishes at the end?

And did you know that Tarantino´s segment of "Four Rooms" is based on a story of Dahl?

Not really hard - it´s the last one, the one in the penthouse; starring himself, Bruce Willis, and the barkeep from "Pulp Fiction". Where they bet the new car against the pinkie that the lighter won´t light ten consecutive times. Funny

Chavdar: No, I´m not kidding you, I´ll look up the title of Dahl´s story and post it later. It´s nearly a 1:1 adaption except the location is different. And since Dahl is around for quite some time I guess Stephen King might have "revamped" his story as well, but that´s just a thought.
