 Beverages
So, what beverages do people around here enjoy? For dinner, for relaxation, for festivities, etc.
I personally, having a severe distaste for coffee since childhood, need at least a cup of tea every morning to reach some balance. Preferably black or red/herb teas, with some sort of taste. Twinings usually rule in the realm of tea-bags, both the fruity/spiced stuff (as long as they don't taste like candy, which Lipton usually does) as well as the pure black teas. I much prefer different Asian teas pure (Assam, Lapsang, Darjeeling etc) than the common Earl Grey/English Breakfast. If Earl Grey, I set for adding milk (which I never do with other teas), and for the Persian or Russian kinds. Anyhow, I usually go for three-four cups/day, depending on availability. These days I go for un-bagged teas, mostly for the price & much greater variety of tastes. I used to put sugar in the black teas, but I've stopped that 'cause it fucks up my teeth and I refuse dentists, at my own peril.
But, this thread wasn't about my tea-drinking habits, but drinking in general.
I used to drink also a lot of juice, orange mostly, but money has restricted that habit so I keep to tap-water, as it is fully drinkable and quite tasty (as tasty as water can be) in Sweden.
When trying to be social/drunk, I also keep it quite simple; beer. Light kinds preferably, not too much taste (I'm definitely not an ale/Guinness guy). Corona is silly but Singha is great. I keep though mostly to Swedish beers, though know-it-alls keep whining about the poor quality of our local breweries. I don't care. Schlecherla Rauchbier is however interesting. Recently I've also picked up the habit of drinking wine; before this summer I abhorred it but now... I've found that Bulgarian clarets keep me going and make me seriously handsome and funny. A nice change at parties since I hardly drink any strong liquor at all; teenage binges have made Vodka, Jägermeister, poser-absinthe and most other heavy stuff impossible for me to handle - it's not strange that I took the pseudonym "Vomitbeast" when joining Infernal Hellfire. I still like gin though. Whiskey does nothing for me.
Uhm... I leave this thread open for all kinds of fluid-discussion. What habits/tastes do you have? Connoisseurs or any kind? Odd local habits/drinks worth mentioning, or strange encounters (like Polynesian coco-moonshine or something)?

I drank Japanese tea the other day at an Asian restaurant. Pretty interesting, it had toasted rice in it, tasted like damn strong tea with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puffed_rice in it. An acquired taste without a doubt, I'm not sure whether I liked it for the taste or the event. [/list]

-Water, water, water and water with some flavours added...at home (a bottle beside your bed is a lifesaver when waking up at night and realising the kitchen is a whole 20 / 25 metres away:))
-Belgian Beers or soft drinks when I go out, which I don't do very often... (Although Belgium boasts many, many, many of these golden fluids(sorry for the lame captain Lassard quote), I avoid most strong beers and settle with the more common among them (economies + the fact I'm not that good a drinker)
-Usage of wine, champagne or high-spirited drinks is practically unexistant...
-Chocolate milk (preferably cold), if I have the chance...

On a day-to-day basis I drink mostly water, and sometimes milk and diet mountain dew.
I'm unfortunately still under the american drinking age for another year, so alcoholic drinks aren't terribly common. But I do love a good dry red wine, a good beer, (wheat ale being my favorite), and various cocktails and spirits.
Worst thing I ever drank had to be a glass of straight bitter campari. Smelled (and presumably tasted) like bug spray.

An important topic in regard to metal concerts and festivals: it's damn silly to stay at a festival on a hot summer day and all you get beer-wise is the cheapest booze which causes headache after one glass... I enjoy good beer for socializing and in Germany we have many nice labels with different tastes. I never got used to this specific sort which is served in Cologne and which the locals are quite proud of, but today there are many small breweries which are great to discover.
At home I prefer coffee, tea and water. I drank a Chinese green tea at a restaurant lately and its taste was somehow mild and strong at once, awesome.
At sports it depends on my mood: usually I drink water, but playing badminton with some beer inside can be quite funny; maybe not for the others around...

In the work I am drinking coffee and fruit juices. At home it´s mostly clean water. In pubs czech lagers or wine, which I enjoy oftenly during the weekends with blue cheese. Mostly spanish ones, but it depends.
Alcohol isn´t so expensive here like in the western Europe, so drinking of stronger distilled beverages is quite common. Sometimes more than it should be ...

Coffee, coffee, coffee! With Milk or Non-dairy Creamer and two to three sugars. Maybe a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Sodas: Clear Choice Key Lime or Tangerine-Lime or Diet Coke Lime. (I LIKE Lime!!)
Booze: Wachusett Brewery Summer Ale (local micro-brewery), Bud Light Lime, Vodka with cranberry juice and lime. I do NOT like Whiskeys, bourbon, scotch, gin, brandy.
Every so often, I'll have Twinings Earl Grey Tea, or Bigelow's Vanilla Chai Tea.

Oooh, good post! I'm still underage , but here goes:
Beer: Kirin Ichiban is my fave, though Newcastle and Dos Equis are great too.
Other alcohol: Mead, dry red wine (esp. Kenwood's Jack London), most white wines/champagnes. Nothing more powerful though, it just starts to taste like lighter fluid or something. In my friend Cole's philosophical words, "I am drunk... but why?"
Non-alcoholic: Ginger ale, club soda, Tazo iced green tea, Dr. Pepper, ICS Vortex (stands for Ice Cream Soda lol), Jamba Juice, water, and Amp Black Tea when I have to stay awake at work.
