Post 15 Songs from your iPod/iTunes
Here's a weird idea for a "list" that I got "tagged" on from my brother-in-law on Facebook:

(1)Turn on your iPod/iTunes/mp3 player.
(2) Go to SHUFFLE songs mode.
(3) Write down the first 15 songs that come up--song title and artist--NO editing/cheating, please.

Let's see what kind of odd songs show up. I'll do mine first:

15 Songs:
1. Deep Well Of Horror - The Tree
2. Astral Luminous - Astral Luminous
3. The Axis Of Perdition - Grief of the Unclean I
4. Keith Merrow - Cetus
5. Nortt - Af Døde
6. Dissection - Beyond The Horizon
7. Xerath - Interlude
8. Mournful Congredgation - Suicide Choir
9. Urgehal - Image Of The Horned King
10. Moss - Gate III, Devils from the Outer Dark
11. The Axis of Perdition - Pendulum Prey
12. Deep Well of Horror - The Maggots
13. Urgehal - The Night Armageddon Comes
14. Jaime Heras - The Trifid Nebula
15. Queens of the Stone Age - Hangin' Tree

Curious. Let's see...

Bogus Blimp - 'No Cords. No Wires'
Radiohead - 'House of Cards'
Ulver - 'EOS'
Khold - 'Forrykt'
Darkthrone - 'Straigthening sharks in heaven'
Gojira - 'Wolf down the Earth'
Solefald - 'Mont Blanc Providence Crow'
Age of Silence - 'The green office and the dark desk drawer'
Bergraven - 'Fasa'
Woburn House - 'Omega'
Darkthrone - 'Man tenker sitt'
Code - 'Jesus Fever' (wonderful, sometimes I love shuffle)
Gojira - 'A sight to behold'
Khold - 'Rekviem'
Virus - 'Road' (wonderful ending)

A lot of things got out of it, like DÄJSÄD, Two Trains, Nooumena, Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk, Zu, Xploding Plastix, Espen Jorgensen... actually almost all of the less metal stuff got out. Maybe will try later without changing the albums on it.

By the way, does everyone have an iPod? I hate those things, too bad sound for the price they have. I bought a Sansa Clip and I'm very happy with it, soundwise, volumewise and pricewise. And it supports flac.

Has anyone seen Steven Wilson 'interacting' with iPods?

I still don't have an iPod or an official portable mp3 player - I still listen to music on my CDs, or my computer. But I use iTunes on both the "family" computer and my laptop.

I've heard a few things on my friends' iPods, and the sound quality is fine. Nothing special, but perfectly good for playing mp3s.

Unholy Matrimony - Fragment Quatrieme (haven't listened to this yet either, but it's vladimir cochet stuff)
von Zamla - After Smrt (haven't listened to this either--a sammla manaamas maaaaannas (or whatever) incarnation)

since I should be working on my degree essay, I'll waste my time doing this (again!).

1. peter hammil - (no more) the sub-mariner
2. master'sh hammer - typograf (first track of their new album, great & weird stuff!)
3. autopsy - critical madness (rotten death metal supremacy!)
4. peter hammill - the comet, the course... (again the Van Der Graaf Generator vocalist playing around with his spinett on this solo album from... 1973?)
5. seviss - peste (harsh thrashing blackmetal from the black legions... french evil!)
6. furze - demonic order in the eternal fascist's hall (norwegian satanic madness)
7. peter hammill - tapeworm
8. vlad tepes - massace song from the devastated lands (black legions again, epic black metal fantasies!)
9. master's hammer - tympan (again frmo the new album)
10. master's hammer - kazdy Z nas (from their debut Ritual)
11. autopsy - pagan saviour (again! slaughter!)
12. krzysztof penderecki - utrenja II: the resurrection of christ (x-mas gift from my girlfriend... polish post-modern christian angst)
13. voivod - macrosolutions to megaproblems (prog-thrash, first AGM album? almost!)
14. autopsy - disembowel (still from their debut Severed Survival)
15. master's hammer - zapalili jsme onen svet (from Ritual again, furious old Czech black satanism)

as you can see, my mp3player wants me to listen to Master's Hammer, Peter Hammill, Autopsy and the Black Legions. and I can't blame it!
