Yeah, a lot of Sweden's welfare & economic situation is based on working immigrants - Finns & Turks built this country in the 1950s-1970's! Seems we've always been quite open to refugees as well, Chileans and Iranians in the 70's for example, Somalians in the 80's. If there ever was a problem, it started in the early nineties, when there came a lot of people from Yugoslavia. The problem was, Sweden was at that point going into recession, leaving a lot of people unemployed, school's hadn't any money etc. And with economic problems, everything is blamed on the immigrants. Right-winged morons got hold, from the Reichtstag down to culture - skinheads made the Swedish flag & Thor's hammer a touchy matter, you could hardly mention that you liked Sweden without being pronounced a racist, nationalist "viking rock" bands waving flags & acting like rednecks etc (you can guess that viking metal bands had a bit of a rough time, Bathory bunched together with WP bands in newspapers). Anyway, if there ever was a problem, it was the clustering of refugees in the suburbs (common deal in most of Europe I guess) - highly educated, post-traumatic stress from being raped, forced to rape, children maimed etc - emotional scars common Swedes can't comprehend because we've had peace for centuries... couldn't speak the language, lucky if you got a job as a taxi driver or cleaning lady when you have a PhD in psychology, neofascists throwing stones into your windows just because you survived Milosevic's troops and got away... goddamn mess and you could only blame the government for not trying harder to integrate or at least help the immigrants a bit better. Touchy subject. I've sometimes been branded racist just for claiming that there might be a problem among immigrants because of Swedish politics (NOT the immigrants themselves).
But, you know, they come here from the Balkans to take our women, our jobs, our welfare (don't understand that equation still)...

With eastern Europe and xenophobia, it´d be longer discussion.
But it´s nearly the same like Ulv´s description - russian ´national pride´ is turned mostly against the ex-soviet nations like kazachs, cecnians etc., who they,in the other hand, consider as the part of ´big Russia´. What is a little bit paradox.

I think it was 'bout time someone say that! Look at all the attention he's getting. He must be a happy man. I can officially say that he has refused an interview with agm.com! I thought he would enjoy the attention, so maybe he's not as much of an attention-whore as I seem to think he is.

Damn, that made my day! Print these stickers and I´ll wear it!
As for the namechanging... Yaaaawn. PR-stunt par excellence, and seemingly worked. I predict this: The album is going to be boring but will stir so much rucus before the release that´ll be a bestseller anyway. And now back to things that are really important...

Well I also tried to interview Fenriz (haha) about AGM. Part of his initial answer was this:
"Those arty bands can suck my balls. haha."
Then I asked him if he thought he was somehow responsible for the new electronic directions which were taken in Norwegian Black metal by bands such as DHG, since he was hosting psy trance parties for the second wave generation of black metallers. His answer was:
"No, electronica has it's own roots, and i know and learnt myself how to FREE MYSELF from rock and metal while listening to it. therefore EXTREMELY painful to see others try to mix these elements. SHUDDER!!
Virus came later, and has nothing to do with black metal or crossover. it is important to see clearly what are just experiments and what REALLY WORKS.
no, this change had nothing to do with me I HOPE, as i would never try to mix this with metal AND ALL OTHERS SHOULD ALSO KNOW THIS as i even played them examples of guitars in trance AND HOW MUCH THAT SUCKED.
all these should never mix those styles, instead they should have taken up loans, bought records, checked out psy history and such."
Interesting man but he doesn't want to talk about AGM because he doesn't care at all. What's funny is that on the moonfog.no website, he is quoted saying, about 666 Int., "I would say that it is almost idiotic to not understand the value of this album". Well, Fenriz sounded quite idiotic to me when I tried to talk about it hahaha.

rightly so I think! he has spent so much time & effort bashing new streams in metal so having him here would be... so contradictory that it would be GREAT!!!

Yeah that's what I thought... I would have loved to have him bashing AGM on our own website. Also he doesn't seem to realize that Darkthrone were actually AGM in their own right when they started a whole new sound back in 1991-1994.

yeah maybe one should explain that avantgarde isn't electronic! For heaven's/hell's sake, mention Ved Buens Ende!

it's not "plastic, lame and weak" as he wrote himself... or rather, when it is, it knows it is, and is proud of it!

To Fenriz? I did. He said it was the only band he followed from the second wave generation. And mostly only the demo, apparently.
"I'm really only into thorns and burzum and mayhem with euro and incarnator... i listened to others but it's because i "had" to, people would seek me and make me listen to their bands. i quickly got into aura noir and inferno instead and such in 94."
After that, no more AGM for Fenriz it would seem hehe. I think Varg would have been more interesting to read.
