Cal, I just listened to your riffs - I totally dig them, reminds me of VBE slightly. I am going to jam on that and try to record something next week in the rehearsal room; it will have a crappy sound then but I am able to record the base and snare via my trigger module as MIDI so we can change sounds for a final mix.
And sorry Suleiman, I haven´t been gone, I had a lumbago and couldn´t drum :( I am trying to download your stuff right now but the connection is slooooow.... I will probably be able to hear it tomorrow as I will go to bed soon.
Keep it up, many great ideas so far!

So is the first sosng done now, or is something left to do for us having been busy with christmas exams and concerts? :P

And if there is anything left to do, what is wanted?

Anticitizen: sweet work, that can become pretty nice. Strangly some parts of this reminds me of some spaced-up Finntroll, but that might be due to the midi-sounds.. :P
Anyway, 'tis sweet.

Hey Suleiman, I hope I will be able to support you with drum patterns tomorrow. I will meet with a friend in the rehearsal room for this... I try and experiment with my MIDI-Trigger so you can change Base and Snare-sounds at your convenience. I at least will upload them Saturday (if all goes well tomorrow...)

Damn, I couldn´t get anyone to help me record today... I´ll have to try next week again. Be patient with me... If only drum recording wasn´t that elaborate...

anti-citizen 1

about the song : it is friggin epic and pretty avant-garde (though having a distinct 90's extreme sympho-metal influence) . infact i am thinking of taking a small bit of it and sythesizing some seriously fuked up tones and working on that........

great work though...i was thinking of a basic midi track and what i heard blew me away......

btw, Cla's vox have been mixed and i've put in a few of mine.....i will post the mix in 2 days......the lryics are more of a stream-of-conciousness type thing.if someone can provide some hot lead guitar work on that song and some interesting samples, it would be appreciated

I just listened to Anti-Citizen-One's MIDI file (thru Windows Media Player, though) ... excellent - I actually used to create a bunch of these style of MIDI's years ago - I actually recorded three whole albums of this kind of material -

I love discovering that other folks also do this kind of stuff! I'm going to load this song into SONAR and replace the Windows Basic GM sounds with some VSTi sounds - this is very cool!

Does anyone else do this kind of music using primarily MIDI?? Maybe I'll dig out my own old songs and post them somewhere, ... this is inspiring!

Hey, Anti-Citizen One! Do you have a website with other files like this?? I'd love to hear more!!

About the drums, if the miditriggers cause a problem when recording, no problem just record the live sound and they can be convert to midi and used as triggers, but they need to be on separate tracks. So a mono snare, a mono bass drum, and a stereo track for the rest of the kit would be cool.

And heres an mp3 of Anticitizens epic, its sounds a little less funny now, but those guitars and bass need replacing fast, any takers? or shall i do them.
BTW i think some bits are a little out of sinc, my fault and not all the bits are there but its better than listening to it with a standard midisound set...

@ Cal:
No, the recordings and the technical stuff is not really a problem. I know about triggering after the recordings, but doing it via Roland Trigger Module beforehand tend to be less tedious.
The problem was that
1. I have no car, so I had to take my stuff (soundcard, cables, laptop and stuff) through really shitty weather (ten seconds outside would get you soaked) to the rehearsal room.
2. I figured I had some cables missing and need to buy them next week
3. My colleague cancelled the meeting, I couldn´t get someone else to help me and believe me - recording drums alone is really driving you mad when you need to go around your drumkit everytime you press play or stop. It´s just too intricately everytime, and that goes for the recordings and gigs as well, drummers always have to fetch the most stuff... Come on, share a bit of compassion for us
Next ocassion for me is next friday. Or maybe my bandcolleagues let me take some of their time during the week... I hope this works out soon.

Oh and btw I normally use a Hercules 16/12 FW with enough inputs to record everything from my kit, so seperate tracks for everything is no problem.

i do like symphonic ... black metal... mostly russian bands i think....like Tvangeste [if u havnt heard it... damn u havnt lived, birth of the hero, best song ever xD]

and no, i have no site...of anything xD and i erased a lot of the songs i had.. they were good, some say great, but who knows? i just didnt like the feeling they had... and they all had practicaly the same feeling. u know? i havent been on music that long.. like a year or two so they were to repetitive. right now i do have more, like 2 or 3 but theyre more .. normal, less AG...if u want some ill upload them
and im making another one sort of in the vein of the one i had posted, but oviously diferent

and ill love to hear yours DimX...

and Cal: that was nice xD sort of sounded like guitar pro 5 but.. better and the choir sounded great, how did u do that?, what program or something
and a question.... why soul garden?xD
