Kawabata Makoto - Jellyfish Rising
I recommend this specific record to anyone interested in ambient, droney, hypnotic and chilling guitar texturing. With full effects, it simply sounds like very fluid and bright music. Dense atmospheres, etc. Pretty cool in headphones!

In The Woods - Mourning The Death Of Aase. why did they record that? seriously, it's just lame and completely boring, on an otherwise superb album. Especially the lady-vocals are so inferior to what Synne did on the two other albums, I usually remove it from my playlist. But now I'm listening on the stereo 6 yards away, so I can't be bothered to get up... but now Wotan's Return came along so I'm fine. Wicked vocals! Wwwwwrrräääääwwwwrrrr.
(no I'm not bored...)

I think Guapo might be worth a try. Not as slow and heavy as Bohren, their "Twisted Stems" made me think of something in the Lagrange point of Bohren and Miasma & The Carousel of Headless Horses.
Try Aethenor as well. Not jazzy but dark and neat. Guapo vs. Stephen O'Malley.

Hey guys, I read that at least one of you is an Æthenor fan, but I would like to think that many others could enjoy what they're doing... So anyway, here's a quote from Vincent de Roguin, one third of the band :
"Besides Daniel (Guapo) and I, Stephen O’Malley is playing guitar, Kristoffer Rygg (from Ulver) and Alexander Tucker both contributed vocals. Alexandre Babel and Nicolas Field are two amazing drummers from Geneva that work together as a duo as well playing in countless other projects. And finally we have a very special guest with us but that’s a bit early to talk about it. Such an amazing line-up, I’m really excited about those new records."
I guess the new albums are gonna be amazing...
