In these moments I wish I could write songs just like that, earn millions of dollars to pay an awesome and nice place to live and do whatever the fuck I want

Well, you only have to write one apparently, then do another vocal track and move around some cymbals and fills.

I have to try that with a few of my troo-underground-Blackmetal albums, I suppose I could end up with same effect
...though I always suspected something like this with several radio songs, this is poor. REALLY poor.

When will bands learn this will always happen when you do nothing but play a simple power chord riff clean then distorted. I know you like It Smells Like Teen Spirit but good god at least Nirvana had the sense to make their other songs sound different.

teen spirit = rape me but still tolerably different
come as you are = 80s ( song by KJ ) but still suffciently niravana stamped
unfortunately a million dm / bm bands are doing the same shit as nickleback......and getting loads of accolades for being true
one of the reasons im thankful for a site liek AGM is that almost all bands mentioned are really different from each other...thank god for individuality

1st (Ravenna something) and 5th track on Dark Funeral's Vobiscum Satanas. Exact same opening.

I would be the last one saying that metal bands all sound different. On the contrary! What annoys me most are people telling me how small my CD collection is (200+ CDs). Well no shit, if I started buying ANYTHING with the same solid riffs my collection would have exceeded the 600 a long time ago!
The metal genre can be so pathetic...

At work, two of the women I work with absolutely love this SHIT! Their favorite bands are:
Nickleback, Lifehouse, Finger Eleven, Three Doors Down, Daughtry, ...
It's absolute torture on the days that they get to pick the radio station of the day.
And then it's "chick rock" day after that:
Jewel, Sheryl Crow, Indigo Girls, Cobie Caillet, Natasha Bedingfield, ...
ugh!

Tell me about it! A section I was working in a couple of weeks ago consisted of people who just wanted music in the background. Can you imagine how much agresssion builded up in my body towards the end of the shift after listening 3 times to Daughtry, Nickelback and that acoustic song of some pathetic little emo whining "What did you do to me?" all the time? I still am working on evening out those shocks!
